White Water Rafting

Rafting holds significant value in Nepal compared to other nations in terms of income generation. Nepal is home to some of the fastest and most challenging white-water rapids. With the majestic Himalayas, often referred to as the water tower of South Asia, Nepal is rich in freshwater resources and exciting lotic systems such as the Bhotekoshi, Marshyangdi, Sunkoshi, Karnali, Upper Seti, Kali Gandaki, and Trisuli rivers. These rivers are among the most explored and popular choices for white-water rafting. The crystal-clear rivers of Nepal offer year-round opportunities for thrilling rafting adventures.

Nepal is a country very popular for one of the important natural resources, water. We have numerous waterfalls and rivers of different sizes. For rafting, it is easy to find the river of your choice in Nepal.

Depending upon the difficulties, rivers are divided into easy, moderate, and dangerous categories according to their size, intensity, and the difficulty for navigation and rescue attempts. Nepal’s river size changes with the season. The volume of water increases after the monsoon rain, which changes the nature of rapids. It creates new rapids and sometimes makes them very difficult or even nearly impossible to navigate.

Rafting can vary from 1-day trips to 14-day trips. Trips from 1 to 4 days are categorized as short trips, while 4 days and longer are considered long trips. Short trips generally feature easier rapids and are suited for first-timers and families. Long trips often include short treks as well. Sometimes, local porters are hired to help rafters carry their belongings as well as the rafting equipment.
